Interdepartmental & Minor Programs

Provides active learning activities that enable effective transition to the dailyhindnews academic environment. Students examine school, college and university programs, policies and services. The career-focused education combines a background in business theory with practical know-how based on real-world situations. The program offers a well-rounded business curriculum that is ideal for students with transfer or prior learning credits.

The General Business program is for students who may desire an “individualized” (i.e. less prescriptive) business major. For instance, a student interested in working for a market research firm may want to combine courses from both management information systems and marketing. In evaluating candidates, the Committee on Admissions takes into consideration your individual interests, your motivation to succeed in a chosen profession, and prior academic achievement. Basic requirements for admission include graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent and an entrance exam or SAT/ACT scores. The general business major is designed for students interested in obtaining a glasstechbahria broad background in business administration without obtaining a high degree of specialization in any one area. The College of Business at the University of Houston-Clear Lake holds both business and separate accounting accreditation with The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.

A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required for admission to the general business major. The Drexel Sales Club welcome students from all majors and schools who are interested in learning about sales. An international honor society devoted to recognizing academic achievement in the study of business.

Noncredit Program Options

Since the houstonsurveillanceservices degree offers students a broad introduction to business, students often use this degree as a precursor to pursuing a specialized master’s program. The Business - General program is specifically designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year business school. The program allows students to transfer to a variety of business programs, including Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, or other business areas.

The General Business major is perfect for students who prefer to be a generalist instead of a specialist. Because this major is grounded in all of the basic disciplines, it provides a solid foundation from which to craft a personalized major.
